USS Stargazer hosts 10 Year Anniversary Celebration!
By FSF Arianna
On March 22nd, 2010 the USS Stargazer of Delta Fleet celebrated it’s 10 year anniversary. A special simulation, complimented by a reunion from several of the original Stargazer crew marked this special milestone. Additionally, the USS Stargazer crew lobbied hard to win the Sim of the Month once again for their anniversary month.
The anniversary event was a great success with over 15 active players in attendance. A few of the most noteable attendees were original Stargazers Duke, Starla, and Fike. Duke was the Stargazer’s first Executive Officer. Fike was the Stargazer’s Chief Medical Officer and later the first Chief Engineering Officer. Starla was the ship’s first helm girl, later becoming Executive Officer herself.
A little bit of history about the Stargazer: she started out as an independent sim, brainchild of the man we all know as FSF Truce, though the moniker the Stargazer would not have come about had it not been for the input of the original 3 Stargazers mentioned above. The sim started out using the bravenet chat platform. Later moving to AIM remaining still independent, before joining into the FSF shortly after. Despite various changes in schedule she is still one of the most successful simulations within the FSF to date having expanded beyond a single chat simulation to one of advanced proportions engaging in cross-sim plotlines and even taking on an additional integral message board portion that is available to those players who are not able to attend the live simulations or for players who attend the live simulation to continue their activity in between live simulations.
The USS Stargazer is a chat based simulation currently operating via the AIM platform. The simulation occurs Monday evenings at 10pm EST. The simulation is hosted by FSF Truce. For questions, he can be reached at FSF Truce via AIM or at FSFTruce@aol.com.
