The Guild Ping

by FSF Bourne, Guild Director

A busy month within the guild this month leads us straight to the gaming guild, with a few new game releases conversations pop up all over the forum. Topics include discussion over the recent closure of Cheyenne Mountain  studio’s which was developing the first Stargate MMO, adding another nail in the coffin for the flailing hope of ever seeing a full boxed Stargate game. On the brighter side of things people began discussing the newly released Final Fantasy 13, which console are they playing on and comparing everything from gameplay to graphics.

The Armed Forces guild was another hive of activity during March, members discussing soldiers losing some luxuries while fighting, like the famed ‘Whopper’. Talk also revolved around care packages for people’s friends and family, what should you send to those soldiers who are missing home? Got an idea for what should be included? Some good suggestions included gum and prepaid calling cards!

The Engineering and Research guild awoke again this month and began a discussion on the infrastructure of space travel, much of which went straight over my head but was an interesting read and thread to follow all the same!

After a small hiatus the Medical and Science guild is back and posting, this time on a Star Wars medical database. Think you can contribute to something like that? Come and begin filling things out and see where we can go!

Overall a great month of busy posting in the guilds, starting off the first quarter well has launched us nicely in to 2010! Now we are looking to the next 9 months, keeping up the posting and bringing in some new activity!
